At Stagecoach, engineering is at the heart of everything we do. As a Bus Electrician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community.
With our growing investment in hybrid and fully electric vehicles, this is an exciting opportunity to work with evolving technologies while being part of a supportive and forward-thinking engineering team.
What you’ll be doing :
Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across our fleet of buses and coaches
Working on vehicle systems including lighting, wiring, batteries, charging systems, and control units
Supporting maintenance and inspection activities to ensure vehicles meet DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards
Using diagnostic equipment and software to identify and resolve issues
Assisting with the introduction and maintenance of electric and hybrid vehicles
Completing all work safely, accurately, and in line with company procedures
Collaborating with technicians and workshop teams to keep vehicles road-ready
What we’re looking for:
Relevant qualifications in electrical or automotive engineering (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
Hands-on experience with vehicle electrical systems (PSV, HGV, automotive, rail, or plant backgrounds welcomed)
Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skillsA proactive, safety-first approach and attention to detail
Confidence using modern diagnostic tools and equipmentA team player with good communication skillsA full UK driving licence
