Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 1 or Level 2 to join our team in Azusa, CA. Northrop Grumman in Azusa has a specialized focus on Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) space programs that deliver timely, reliable and accurate missile warning and infrared surveillance information to key decision makers. The programs enhance global missile launch detection capability, support the nation's missile defense system, expand the country’s technical intelligence gathering capacity and bolster situational awareness for warfighters on the battlefield.

Northrop Grumman in Azusa needs qualified system engineers with an emphasis on analysis of system performance on OPIR programs. Systems Engineers will support system design, pointing and control mechanism calibration and trending, radiometric image and image processing analysis, ground and orbital system test data analysis, test design, anomaly resolution support, tool development, and requirements/performance capability sell-off for OPIR programs. Work may include payload design, payload and space vehicle integration and test, analyzing system performance for on-orbit payloads as well as support of flight readiness test activities for payload and ground systems.

• Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline
• Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
• Ability to obtain & maintain U.S. Government Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship before start date
• Experience with optics, radiometry, linear algebra, control theory, or spacecraft systems, demonstrated through academic research, engineering projects, or professional engineering experience

• Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 2+ years of engineering experience
• Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
• Ability to obtain & maintain U.S. Government Secret Clearance and U.S. Citizenship before start date
• Experience with optics, radiometry, linear algebra, control theory, or spacecraft systems, demonstrated through academic research, engineering projects, or professional engineering experience

• Proficiency in MATLAB and object oriented programming
• Project or classroom experience in applied mathematics
• AI or Machine Learning experience
  
  Data science implementation in Julia, Python, or MATLAB
• Knowledge of or experience with spacecraft systems
• Familiarity with commonly used tools in both MS Windows & Unix environments
• Active U.S. Government Secret and SCI Clearance or higher

Primary Level Salary Range: $76,200.00 - $
Secondary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $
