At Novocure, every role contributes to extending the lives of people living with cancer. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and based in Baar, Switzerland, this role partners with senior leaders across Product Development, Operations Engineering, Supply Chain, Global Quality, Enterprise Technology, Patient Experience, and other functions to enhance operational effectiveness across the organization.

As our new Director, Operational Effectiveness, you'll play a key role in strengthening how our global COO Organization executes against strategic priorities, enabling better decisions, stronger cross‑functional collaboration, and improved business performance.

You will sit at the intersection of operational effectiveness and business analytics, helping leadership define what success looks like through meaningful KPI frameworks, governance, and performance management. You will work with cross-functional partners to define the right metrics, identify the required data, and ensure executive reporting delivers timely, actionable insights that support strategic decision‑making.

What You'll Do
  • Drive operational effectiveness across the COO Organization leadership team by strengthening governance, leadership cadence, accountability, and cross‑functional execution.
  • Partner with functional and business leaders to define standardized COO Organization KPIs that align with strategic priorities and enable effective performance management.
  • Translate business priorities into measurable performance indicators, identifying the right data and partnering with analytics teams to develop executive dashboards and automated reporting.
  • Improve governance structures, operating mechanisms, decision rights, and cross‑functional collaboration across the COO Organization.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to resolve execution barriers, align priorities, and improve organizational effectiveness within a complex global matrix.
  • Support annual budget preparation and long‑range planning through KPI‑driven performance insights, business analysis, and strategic resource prioritization.
  • Develop business cases, financial analyses, and executive decision‑support materials that enable timely, informed leadership decisions.
  • Support Operating Council activities, ensuring high‑quality leadership discussions, and strong execution follow‑through.
  • Champion a culture of operational effectiveness and data‑driven decision making through standardized governance, KPI discipline, and business performance reporting.
About You
  • Exposure to the pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences, or other regulated healthcare industry.
  • 10+ years of overall professional experience, including at least 5 years in operational effectiveness, strategy execution, business transformation, program leadership, or related functions.
  • 2+ years of experience partnering with senior global executives.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience developing KPI frameworks, performance measurement approaches, and business reporting to support executive decision making.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Life Sciences, Operations, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Proven ability to influence across complex, matrixed organizations without direct authority.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with in an international consulting firm.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, including business case development and operational analytics.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business challenges and data into practical, decision‑ready recommendations.
  • A collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to quickly learn new business domains while building trusted partnerships across the organization.
