Junior Business Controller Commodity Trading

For the Swiss entity of an important trading house providing global trading services for refined products and petrochemicals in Baar/Zug.

This role is a unique opportunity to work within a modern, international corporation alongside industry experts. You will support the Business Control department in maintaining financial integrity and driving operational excellence across diverse business streams in commodity trading. This position reports directly to the CFO.

• Data Validation & Integrity:
  Serve as the primary gatekeeper for data accuracy from various business streams including Trading, Operations, and Back Office
• Budgeting & Planning Support:
  Assist the Senior Controller in developing budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans to support business goals
• Performance Monitoring:
  Help prepare insightful reports and track KPIs to drive management decision-making
• Variance Analysis:
  Support monthly financial results analysis and prepare detailed variance reports against budgets and forecasts
• Process Optimization:
  Identify and lead initiatives to streamline reporting and operational processes, ensuring maximum efficiency and accuracy
• Compliance:
  Monitor and ensure all activities remain compliant with internal reporting standards

• Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Previous experience in business controlling, ideally within a commodity trading environment
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office Excel. VBA knowledge is a significant advantage, alongside experience with Power BI.

• Strong sense of responsibility, independence in task execution
• Fluency in English
