Position: Office Assistant 1 (Long Island Regional HQ - Finance Office)
Duties Description Assigned to the Long Island Regional Administrative Headquarters at Belmont Lake State Park, the incumbent will provide clerical work and office support to the Regional Finance Office. Under the supervision of higher?level personnel, duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in the regional auditing of parks - cash counts, floor checks, golf and camping checks, concession inspections, and compile reports

• Assist with ensuring that all parks are entering all deposits and attendance into regional programs on time

• Assist with housing payments;
Bill Captree boatmen berth electricity;
Brentwood ballfield lights electricity and Jones Beach cell tower electricity

• Assist with generating revenue and attendance reports for the region

• Assist Albany Revenue in resolving bank reconciliation discrepancies, credit card chargebacks, and credit card charge importation errors into PORTS from Aspira, Park Hub, and Ventek

• Assist in inventorying financial stationery

• Assist Park Staff with verifying accuracy on procurement records and Process Vendor requests for payment

• Approve vouchers verifying all information is accurate and respond to incorrect charges and coding in E-Settlements

• Assist in processing Direct Pays, interagency payments, and employee reimbursements.

• Perform other clerical duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A subsequent 55-b/c appointment may be considered if you have at least one year of permanent or contingent-permanent qualifying service and have a current Civil Service 55-b/c letter of eligibility.

Qualifications:

Current NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Employees only, with at least one year of permanent or contingent-permanent qualifying service as a/an Office Assistant 1; if you have less than one year, you must be reachable on the current Office Assistant 1 eligible list for this location, if one exists.

70.1 Transfer

Qualifications:

At least one year of permanent or contingent-permanent qualifying service as a Grade 6 or higher. The service must be in a title that Civil Service has deemed transfer eligible to the position.

Note:

The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.

* NY HELPS PROGRAM:
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a permanent non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply.

At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
