Position Overview
Are you passionate about solving problems, improving processes, and driving measurable business results? Shaw Industries is seeking a Process Improvement Engineer to help lead operational excellence initiatives at Plant 70 in Bainbridge, GA.
Job TitleProcess Improvement Engineer
What You'll Do- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
- Identify, prioritize, and drive cost‑saving opportunities while developing annual cost‑reduction strategies.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and improve operational performance.
- Coach and mentor leaders on Green Belt and Black Belt improvement projects.
- Lead process and landfill waste reduction initiatives and support sustainability efforts through recycling and waste stream management.
- Analyze manufacturing processes using data, observations, and time studies to recommend and implement improvements.
- Support the planning, justification, and execution of capital and expense projects, including equipment upgrades and process enhancements.
- Assist with annual capital planning and plant budgeting processes.
- Collaborate on facility and department layout improvements to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
- Analyze cost variances and develop action plans to improve financial performance.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently to drive results.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Manufacturing, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement experience preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge required.
- Black Belt certification preferred or willingness to complete Black Belt training.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to effectively influence, engage, and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Drive results through data‑driven decision making.
- Influence and inspire others to embrace change.
- Build strong relationships and trust across teams.
- Take initiative and ownership of projects from concept to implementation.
