Job Title
Extrusion Operator
Responsibilities- Performs regular and routine inspection of line to ensure production of a first quality product.
- Takes corrective action when quality defects are encountered.
- Verifies equipment settings are correct.
- Thread/Tie in line following correct procedure (through water tank, rolls, ovens, to winder, etc.).
- Doffs, ties, and inspects all finished packages for defects to ensure a quality product.
- Applies correct product label with operator each finished package and places it in tray on packing rail.
- Prepares pallets, boxes, tops, bottoms, and dividers for direct pack‑out.
- Prepares a bar‑code label for container of production.
- Repairs all breakouts and restarts line as soon as possible.
- Dispositions cordage packages.
- Performs color changes following correct procedure.
- Handles shutdown/startup procedure correctly.
- Ensures proper specifications are placed on the job.
- Maintains product standards.
- Handles cake and aspirator waste.
- Maintains accurate records of all downtime.
- Performs minor mechanical repair work as needed.
- Communicates with off‑going/on‑coming shift the status of line conditions.
- Works closely with management when changing products, shutting down, or starting up line.
- Numbers and places tubes in tube holders.
- Breaks down concentrate and resin boxes for recycling.
- Performs ERP (Experimental Run Process) testing based on instructions and specification sheet.
- Identifies non‑conformances and follows all SMS procedures where applicable.
- Ensures packages taken to lab for testing are properly identified.
- Places recycled materials in proper storage containers.
- Operates lift truck as required.
- Performs lift truck checklist as required.
- Maintains lift truck battery as required.
- Adheres to lockout/tag‑out procedures.
- Maintains all equipment in a safe and operable condition.
- Uses hand tools properly and safely.
- Performs housekeeping in work area as required.
- Enter maintenance data in CMMS EZ Entry as required.
- Complies with Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) system requirements.
- Complies with Shaw Management System (SMS) procedures.
- Actively participates in the Quality P.R.I.D.E. process.
- Performs all duties using safe work methods.
- Complies with Corporate Absenteeism and Tardiness policy.
- Complies with S.A.F.E. system procedures.
- Works scheduled days adhering to start and stop times.
- Works overtime as required.
Job Duties
Assists Turf Extrusion associates as needed.
Physical Requirements- Sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, climbing, and reaching as required.
- Lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Working with hands over head.
- Ascending and descending stairs/ladders.
- Withstanding high temperatures.
- Pushing a pallet jack.
- Distinguishes between colors.
- Successfully completes Lift Truck Operator certification.
- Possesses good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Able to work rotating shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Attends one‑day orientation training session familiarizing new associates with the plant and basic procedures.
- Attends quality and safety training as required.
- Participates in on‑the‑job training familiarizing new associates with their job duties.
- Completes training on CMMS EZ Entry.
- Responsible for safety equipment issued, including safety glasses and earplugs.
- Responsible for equipment, materials, and supplies necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Maintains safe and clean work area at all times.
- Reports any unsafe conditions to supervision.
- Reports all accidents to supervision immediately.
- Wears personal protective equipment as required while on the job.
- Complies with all plant and department safety rules and regulations.

12‑hour rotating shift, hours fall to in‑punch day, Act Calendar. Days & AM/PM start time changes in the rotation.
