The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) serves as a clinical operational liaison between the units and the Director of Nursing. The ADON is responsible for daily clinical operations of the Nursing Units, ensuring compliance with center policies, practice standards, and regulations. In addition, the ADON facilitates the implementation of the care delivery model, mentors staff, coordinates and communicates with other departments, and ensures patient and family satisfaction.

In the absence of the Director of Nursing, the ADON assumes all duties and responsibilities of that role.

• Support the Director of Nursing in managing the nursing department, including staffing, scheduling, and enforcing policies.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, participate in chart audits, and oversee infection control, care planning, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Participate in hiring, training, performance reviews and promote professional growth to deliver consistent, high‑quality care.

• Active R.N. license with a minimum of three years of nursing experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role; long‑term care or geriatric experience preferred.
• BSN preferred; proven skills in organizing and managing nursing services and personnel.
• Proficient in reading, writing and speaking English; clerical ability to analyze reports and data.
• Current BLS/CPR certification as required by state regulations.
