Job Overview
The primary purpose of this role is to sell the company’s industry leading pest management services and products to new and existing residential customers while maintaining a customer‑focused service to grow the business. The Pest Control Consultant is the face of the national brand in the local community and protects homes and families.
Responsibilities- Visually inspect homes for pests, pest harborage, pest entries, and other indicators.
- Based on assessment findings, sell pest control solutions and preventative maintenance for residential customers.
- Collaborate with the Customer Service Center, Inside Sales department, and Technicians to increase opportunities.
- Partner with the Branch Manager to identify revenue streams with the current base and service‑specialist engagement.
- Develop proposals to resolve existing pest issues and propose additional enhancements to household services.
- Complete a home diagram using the Sales CRM and provide it to ensure a clear understanding of the customer’s home and possible challenges.
- Follow up on past proposals to close sales opportunities.
- Provide expert knowledge to new service installations to ensure job completion to satisfaction.
- Complete daily activities and sales performance using the company sales CRM.
- Move up to 10 lbs. regularly and 11–20 lbs. frequently (lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or repositioning).
- Move around a lot – regularly sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling; use stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
- Maintain balance when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces.
- Work in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways, and must be comfortable dealing with insects, spiders, flies, mosquitos, rodents, etc.
- Operate a motor vehicle safely and keep the vehicle and equipment clean.
- Wear personal protective equipment such as an OSHA‑compliant respirator as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license from the current state of residence (company vehicle and gas card will be provided).
- Strong social, customer‑service, and communication skills; related sales experience or training preferred.
- At least 1–2 years of pest technician or sales experience.
- Travel up to 100% of the time within assigned territory(s).
- Comfortable working in small spaces such as basements, crawl spaces, and attics.
