The Loss Prevention Specialist plays a vital role in safeguarding the company's assets by preventing theft and fraud while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental programs. This position requires the use of various tools and strategies to minimize financial losses, such as:
- Identifying and addressing incidents of theft and fraud.
- Reviewing CCTV footage and other exception reports.
- Monitoring the store's physical security measures.
- Auditing Electronic Article Surveillance systems.
- Promoting a culture of shrink elimination within the store.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Preparing accurate and detailed case reports that document apprehensions and recoveries.
- Preserving evidence related to incidents.
- Collaborating with law enforcement as needed.
- Testifying in criminal and civil court actions.
The Loss Prevention Specialist is also expected to report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty. The role must be executed in a manner that prioritizes safety for all associates, vendors, customers, and the company as a whole. Integrity is paramount in this position, which entails being responsive to asset protection concerns raised by colleagues while remaining focused on achieving store-specific business objectives.
