One of our Partners in Oregon is seeking a Board-Certified General Surgeon to help re-establish a general surgery program following a multi-year gap. This is a scheduled, no-call assignment with a flexible block structure and a strong endoscopy component.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (8-hour days)
Coverage Commitment: Minimum 2 weeks per month (weeks do not need to be consecutive; must be full Mon-Fri weeks)
Setting: Critical Access Hospital - OR and Clinic
No Call No Nights No Weekends
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Provider Pay Ranking: Top 10% nationally for General Surgery locum tenens ( market data)
Scheduled general surgery coverage with no call responsibilities
OR and clinic-based practice
Significant endoscopy volume (upper and lower scopes required)
Opportunity to help rebuild a community surgical program

Prepaid travel and lodging
Malpractice insurance coverage provided
Perform general surgical procedures appropriate to a critical access setting
Conduct upper and lower endoscopic procedures (required)
Manage outpatient clinic visits and follow-ups
Participate in surgical case days and scope days
Collaborate with OR staff, anesthesia, and hospital leadership
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
Surgical Case Days: 2-5 cases per day (initial volumes expected to be lighter as program restarts)
Scope Days: 6-8 cases per day
Clinic Days: 8-10 patients per day (flexible based on referral volume)
Volumes are conservative estimates and expected to grow over time
Board Certified in General Surgery
Comfortable practicing independently in a critical access hospital
Strong experience with upper GI and lower endoscopy
Ability to support a developing surgical program
