FBLA Advisor - BMS
LOCATIONBaker Middle School (High-Needs School)
POSITION DESCRIPTION- Baker School District is currently seeking a candidate as a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Advisor at the Baker Middle School beginning the school year.
- To perform the duties of organizing, providing, and promoting activities and events for the student group.
- The purpose of FBLA-Middle Level Division (Grades 7 &
8) is to provide, as an integral part of the instructional program, additional opportunities for students to explore, encounter, and experience positive leadership skills for their present lifestyles, as well as their future work.
- Develop competent, aggressive business leadership.
- Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work.
- Create more interest in and understanding of American business enterprise.
- Encourage members in the development of individual projects which contribute to the improvement of home, business, and community.
- Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism.
- Encourage and practice efficient money management.
- Encourage scholarship and promote school loyalty.
- Assist students in the establishment of occupational goals.
- Facilitate the transition from school to work.
- Provides effective leadership in activities and events for students in the school group.
- Organizes and effectively leads students to plan and execute activities and events for the school activity.
- Schedules and coordinates the use of facilities for activities and events for the school group with the designated building personnel.
- Develop, maintain and work within program budgets (student fees and FBLA) following district and building guidelines;
Keep accurate records of monies used and received. - Is aware of and enforces school safety standards at all times.
- Participation in FBLA required at the local, regional, and state levels (including the national level if students qualify).
- Comply with applicable District, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels, students, parents, and the general public
- Willingness to accept responsibility for the tasks of the position.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
- Understanding of school, district, and state rules and regulations regarding school operations
- Demonstrate ability to relate positively and work collaboratively with students, teachers, administrators, employers, parents, and the community to achieve best outcomes.
- $2472.00 - $3165.00 based on the Extra Duty Salary Schedule and based on applicant's school district experience. (Budget Code: .502.520)
