The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is driven by a powerful mission: protecting our communities while helping youth build safer, healthier, and more successful futures. We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Social Worker to provide essential clinical support to youth in secure care settings.

In this meaningful role, you will assist with therapeutic services, support case management activities, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote emotional well-being, rehabilitation, and positive behavioral change. Your work will help ensure that youth receive the structure, guidance, and support they need to succeed.

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Certified Social Worker (CSW) plus a master's degree in social work.

NOTE:

Permanent status will not be granted in this job title without LMSW or LCSW licensure in Louisiana;
Certified Social Worker (CSW) credential will not be accepted for granting permanent status.

Job Duties
  • Assist with therapeutic services and provide supportive counseling to youth under supervision.
  • Help with case management tasks, documentation, and treatment planning.
  • Conduct interviews, gather social histories, and support assessments of youth needs.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate services.
  • Observe and report youth behavior, progress, and safety concerns.
  • Apply trauma-informed, culturally competent practices in all interactions.
  • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Perform related duties to support youth rehabilitation and clinical operations.
