As an Instructor at Jetson Center for Youth, you will teach secure-care youth using the state-mandated curriculum while fostering a structured, supportive, and growth-oriented learning environment.

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
* Louisiana teaching certification or eligibility for certification
* Strong classroom management and instructional skills
* Ability to work effectively with at-risk youth in a secure care setting
* Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
There may be additions and alternatives to the above qualifications as the Office of Juvenile Justice determines appropriate.
The incumbent will serve as a content teacher for Secondary Education Certified Instructor or Temporary Authority to Teach or eligibility for a TAT core subject matters:
Science, Social Studies, Math, or Language Arts.
Job Duties:
* Teach and inspire youth through the state-mandated curriculum, entry-level job skills, and employability training.
* Create a positive learning environment by organizing instruction, writing lesson plans, and using diverse teaching strategies tailored to students' needs and learning styles.
* Promote student success through consistent classroom management rooted in positive reinforcement, fairness, and clear expectations.
* Support academic progress by preparing bi-weekly performance reports, maintaining accurate attendance and grades, and submitting all required documentation on time.
* Engage in continuous professional growth by participating in trainings, conferences, and seminars to stay current in instructional practices and youth development.
* Collaborate with staff and leadership, maintaining strong communication and serving on school or facility committees as needed.
* Model professionalism and leadership, demonstrating integrity, optimism, persistence, and strong communication skills in both written and verbal formats.
* Perform additional duties assigned by the Principal, immediate supervisor, or Youth Facility Director to support school operations.
