Accounting Clerk

Description

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Bakersfield, California. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the machinery manufacturing industry, while ensuring accurate and efficient financial record-keeping.

Responsibilities:

- Handle day-to-day accounting tasks such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.

- Assist with monthly close activities and account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

- Process vendor invoices and manage payment schedules, including weekly or bi-weekly check runs.

- Generate and distribute customer invoices, applying payments and monitoring outstanding balances.

- Reconcile vendor and customer accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.

- Prepare and process payroll, ensuring accurate deductions, adjustments, and compliance with regulations.

- Support payroll tax filings, benefit deductions, and respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll.

- Maintain organized and confidential financial records, adhering to company policies.

- Collaborate with accounting teams to address administrative or financial tasks as needed.

- Monitor aging reports and actively follow up on overdue accounts.

Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.

- Proven experience in payroll processing with a strong understanding of compliance requirements.

- Familiarity with accounting principles and best practices.

- Proficiency in accounting and payroll software such as Quick Books, Paychex, or similar systems.

- Exceptional attention to detail and high levels of accuracy in financial tasks.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.

- Excellent problem-solving skills for reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.
