The Accounting Supervisor will play a critical role in overseeing Work‑in‑Progress (WIP), financial reporting, payroll oversight (union and non‑union), and the preparation of financial statements and reporting packages.

Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Close Process- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Develop and distribute comprehensive financial reporting packages for leadership
- Lead the monthly and year‑end close processes
- Perform account reconciliations and general ledger oversight
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and construction accounting standards
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Support external audits and tax preparation processes
- Manage and maintain detailed WIP schedules
- Prepare and analyze WIP reports for executive leadership
- Monitor job cost reports and percentage‑of‑completion accounting
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking and revenue recognition
- Identify cost overruns, margin fade/gain, and profitability trends
- Ensure proper contract billing, retention tracking, and change order accounting
- Oversee union and non‑union payroll processing
- Ensure compliance with union agreements and prevailing wage requirements
- Review certified payroll reporting and related compliance documentation
- Monitor payroll allocations to jobs and cost codes
- Ensure payroll tax and benefit reporting accuracy
- Supervise and mentor accounting team members
- Improve and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures
- Assist in system improvements and process efficiencies
- Partner cross‑functionally with operations and project management teams
- Support cash flow monitoring and job profitability analysis
- Participate in strategic financial planning initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Construction industry experience required
- Strong knowledge of WIP accounting and percentage‑of‑completion revenue recognition
- Experience overseeing union and non‑union payroll
- Proficiency in financial statement preparation and reporting
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Detail‑oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Hands‑on, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves approach
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
