Location: Bakersfield, CA (Onsite)
Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 DOE

Our client is looking for a Staff Accountant who enjoys being hands-on and involved in the operational side of accounting. This role supports accounting functions tied closely to production, cost tracking, and financial reporting within a fast-paced industry environment. It’s a great opportunity for someone who likes variety in their work and wants exposure to both accounting and operational processes.

You’ll work with leadership and operations teams to help maintain accurate financial data, monitor project costs, and support reporting tied to active field operations.

As a Staff Accountant, you’ll support daily accounting functions while helping track costs, maintain financial records, and assist with operational reporting. This role offers strong exposure to project accounting, cost analysis, and system management.

• Set up project files, budgets, and cost tracking structures

• Maintain general ledger activity and review coding accuracy

• Process revenue activity and supporting financial documentation

• Generate monthly cost and cash reporting for leadership

• Support operational reporting tied to wells, leases, or project activity

• Assist with maintaining accounting system records and data integrity

• 2–5 years of accounting experience

• Strong understanding of general ledger and cost tracking processes

• Experience with ERP or industry-specific accounting software preferred

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

• Hands-on accounting role with operational exposure
