Accounting Supervisor

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and hands‑on Accounting Supervisor to lead the day‑to‑day accounting operations of a growing agriculture organization. This individual will oversee core accounting functions, supervise accounting staff, ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, and partner with leadership to improve processes and maintain strong internal controls. • Supervise daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and fixed assets.
• Lead and mentor accounting staff by providing training, coaching, and performance management.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end close processes, ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Support annual audits by preparing schedules and coordinating with external auditors.
• Review vendor payments, customer accounts, and cash management activities.
• Assist with payroll review and related accounting entries as needed.
• Develop and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and workflow efficiencies.
• Collaborate with operations and department managers to support financial decision‑making.
• Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
• Experience with month‑end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
• Agriculture, manufacturing, food production, or distribution experience is highly preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, JD Edwards, Net Suite, or similar preferred).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross‑functionally.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

• Inventory and cost accounting experience.
• Experience with multi‑entity accounting.
• Familiarity with agricultural operations and seasonal business cycles.
• Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to streamline accounting processes.
