Accounting Clerk

Location: Bakersfield, CA (Onsite)

Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 DOE

A respected construction company serving the Bakersfield market is looking to add an Accounting Clerk to its accounting team. With a strong portfolio of projects and a long-standing presence in the community, the company has built a reputation for quality work and dependable service. This role is critical to supporting daily financial operations and ensuring project-related accounting activities remain accurate and organized.

This position exists to support the accounting function in a fast-paced construction environment where attention to detail and strong organizational skills make a tangible impact. You ll work closely with accounting leadership, project managers, vendors, and operations teams to help maintain accurate financial records, support job costing efforts, and keep workflows running efficiently. • Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely and accurate vendor payments
• Maintain accounts receivable records and apply customer payments to accounts
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger balances
• Support job costing activities by tracking project expenses and maintaining documentation
• Prepare reports and assist with month-end close and other accounting projects

• 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounting clerk experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations
• Construction industry experience preferred, including job costing or project accounting exposure
