Accounts Payable

Location: Kern County, CA (On-Site)
Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE

Our client is a reputable and growing agricultural organization in Kern County dedicated to supporting California's farming industry through operational excellence, quality products, and strong community partnerships. They are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team.

The Accounts Payable Specialist will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and vendor payments. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced agricultural environment.

• Process and enter vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
• Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Review invoices for proper approvals, coding, and compliance
• Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and filing systems
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payment status
• Assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations
• Support internal and external audits by gathering requested documentation
• Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Experience in agriculture, farming, food processing, manufacturing, or related industries is preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field is a plus

• Experience processing high-volume invoices
• Knowledge of three-way matching procedures
• Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems
• Strong understanding of AP best practices and internal controls
