The Ideal Candidate :The ideal candidate for the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent is a service-oriented, highly organized, professional individual who demonstrates exceptional judgment, work ethic, and communication skills. This individual plays a critical role in supporting the efficient operation of the Superintendent’s Office and the overall student-centered mission of Lompoc Unified School District (LUSD).
This individual serves as a trusted partner to the Superintendent, and understands the context of LUSD and the community it serves. They demonstrate an understanding of excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with district leadership, staff, board members, families, and community partners.
The successful candidate possesses strong executive-level administrative experience, preferably within education or public sector environments. They share in the District’s commitment to equity, and have the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused, with the ability to anticipate needs, manage complex schedules, coordinate high-level meetings and communications, and handle sensitive information with integrity and sound judgment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in various technology tools, organization systems, and office management practices.
This individual is adaptable, collaborative, and committed to supporting student success through effective leadership support and exceptional customer service. They embody professionalism, integrity, and a deep commitment to the values and goals of LUSD and public education.
The established Eligibility List will remain in effect for one year. The District has the right to limit the number of eligibles which can be reasonably used during the existence of the eligibility list. Education and Experience (Qualifications)Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school supplemented by college-level course work in secretarial science or related field and five years of increasingly responsible secretarial or administrative assistant experience, with preference given to applicants who have related experience working in a public school setting.
Responsibilities- Perform highly responsible duties as the primary and confidential secretary to the Assistant Superintendent, relieving the administrator of a variety of secretarial and administrative details; monitor various activities on behalf of administrator as assigned and ensure compliance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements; maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information.
- Plan, coordinate and organize office and department activities, information, and flow of communications for the administrator; oversee assigned work activities, organize assignments and monitor progress; ensure activities are completed within established guidelines.
