About the roleUnder the supervision of the Member Services Supervisor and the direction of the Member Services Management, this position performs a variety of administrative support functions, including clerical and data entry tasks as needed. The Member Services Senior Support Clerk is a full‑time, hourly employee who assists the Manager, Supervisor, and the department in a variety of clerical functions for a Knox‑Keene licensed maintenance organization (HMO).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Strive to live and practice KHS’ Mission, Vision and Values (MVV) every day, and strongly commit to advance the organization’s strategic plan.
- Open all incoming mail and distribute the mail to the appropriate department/person according to departmental policy; date stamps each piece of mail with current date.
- Handle department returned mail and maintain the returned mail file; correct addresses and re‑mail as necessary.
- Answer incoming calls and document interactions with callers in CRM.
- Make outgoing calls and document interactions with callers in CRM.
- Compose simple letters, memos, confidential reports, and complete standard forms from information received in handwritten or typed form, generally without being given specific oral or written instructions.
- Create manual and electronic files; search for files; retrieve information from files; monitor use of confidential and miscellaneous files and their contents; purge files and/or information from files; close files.
- Operate a variety of office machines such as copier, facsimile, and multiple line telephone systems.
- Retrieve copies of documents from files or scanned documents as requested by staff and other departments.
- Keep record in files of all documents that are pulled.
- Scan documents as needed.
- Answer phones and screen calls.
- Assist management staff and other departments in completing special projects, as assigned.
- Perform other job‑related duties as required.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures relative to employment and job responsibilities.
Education: High School Diploma from an accredited school or equivalent; diploma or GED certificate required.
Experience: Two (2) years’ office clerical experience, preferably in the managed care and/or health insurance industry.
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour.
