Healthcare Specialist

This Healthcare Specialist role focuses on supporting the accounting and administrative functions within a healthcare environment by managing deposits, handling mail, performing accurate data entry, and providing clerical support. The position requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with basic office software, and the ability to organize and process financial and administrative documentation efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Process weekly deposits by scanning, sorting, and organizing deposit documentation, with particular attention to higher volumes on Mondays.
  • Prepare and update spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets to track deposits, mail, and other departmental information.
  • Manage all incoming mail, sort it accurately, and route it to the appropriate departments in a timely manner.
  • Perform coding and documentation preparation to support posting activities for the accounting team, ensuring all required supporting documents are complete and accurate.
  • Scan, organize, and email documents to internal stakeholders, maintaining clear and accurate electronic records.
  • Perform a variety of clerical tasks, including data entry, records filing, and general administrative support for the accounting department.
  • Maintain organized files and records to support audit readiness and efficient retrieval of information.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of administrative and accounting support tasks.
Essential Skills
  • 2–3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Medical or healthcare-related experience with familiarity with healthcare documentation and processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel (basic level), Outlook, and Google Sheets.
  • Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform clerical tasks such as deposits processing, records filing, and general administrative support.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks such as mail handling, document scanning, and spreadsheet updates.
  • Ability to prepare supporting documentation for accounting-related postings.
  • Effective written and electronic communication skills for emailing and coordinating with internal departments.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience supporting an accounting or finance department in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting workflows related to deposits and posting support.
  • Comfort working with both electronic and paper-based records.
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures and guidelines.
Work Environment

The role is based in a recently remodeled, cubicle-style office environment designed to support focused work in a quiet setting. The position involves extensive computer use, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Sheets, and Outlook, as well as frequent use of scanners and email systems. The workday centers on routine administrative and accounting support tasks, including handling physical mail and documents, scanning, and data entry, within a professional office atmosphere.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $25.00/hr.
