JOBSUMARY
As a Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in the pre-construction phase of projects, providing detailed cost estimates and bid strategies. You will collaborate with our Project Managers, Architects, Clients and Subcontractors to ensure bids are comprehensive, compliant, and positioned for success. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and hands-on experience navigating the intricacies of the public and private bid processes.
KEYRESPONSIBILITEIS
- Prepare accurate and detailed costs estimates including materials, labor, equipment usage and subcontractor costs.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to solicit and evaluate proposals and negotiate terms to optimize project costs.
- Perform quantity surveys and determine labor production rates.
- Identify risks, value engineering opportunities and alternative solutions to enhance bid competitiveness.
- Proficiency with Blue Beam, Excel, and P6 scheduling software a plus.
- Proven expertise in public bidding procedures including familiarity with the California Public Contract Code, California prevailing wages, Davis-Bacon Act and state/federal procurement guidelines.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes and sustainability practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple bids concurrently.
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in all phases of General Construction and Construction Management.
- Competitive salary range: $110k - $140k annually, commensurate with experience.
