About the Role
The Construction Manager will oversee day‑to‑day field operations, coordinate multi‑trade subcontractors, and ensure successful execution of design‑build projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑moving environment, understands public‑sector compliance, and knows how to drive quality, safety, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on‑site construction activities for design‑build public‑sector projects (HVAC, MEP, lighting, energy upgrades).
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring clear scopes, sequencing, and accountability.
- Oversee project schedules, daily progress, manpower planning, and critical path activities.
- Conduct site walks, quality checks, and safety audits; enforce OSHA and company safety standards.
- Collaborate with design teams, engineers, and project managers to resolve field issues and maintain design intent.
- Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders for accuracy and constructability.
- Track project costs, materials, and equipment; support procurement and delivery planning.
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, inspectors, and public‑sector stakeholders.
- Ensure all work complies with contract requirements, building codes, and agency standards.
- Support project reporting, documentation, and closeout deliverables.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction management or superintendent experience on commercial or public‑sector projects.
- Proven experience with design‑build delivery.
- Strong technical background in HVAC, MEP systems, lighting/controls, or energy‑efficiency upgrades.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate multiple subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of construction schedules, sequencing, and field operations.
- Experience working with municipalities, school districts, or government agencies.
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
