Position OverviewWe are looking for BSN clinical instructors to join our team in Bakersfield, CA on a per diem basis. The schedule consists of working 12‑hour shifts on Saturdays during the day. Must have OB or Pediatrics experience. No prior teaching experience is required!
Pay$55–70 per hour for per diem.
Job Description- Teach and supervise nursing students in classroom and clinical settings, focusing on obstetrics.
- Collaborate with faculty to develop, administer, and grade course materials and examinations.
- Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and clinical skills.
- Participate in curriculum development, quality improvement initiatives, and program assessment.
- Orient and mentor new faculty members in both theory and clinical instruction.
- Utilize adult learning principles and integrate technology in teaching methods.
- Maintain current knowledge of nursing practices, technologies, and safety regulations in obstetrics.
- Participate in faculty meetings, committee activities, and student advising.
- Ensure clinical assignments meet both student learning objectives and facility requirements.
- Submit required reports and forms to the program director in a timely manner.
- Maintain professional development and contribute to the nursing program's mission and goals.
The annual pay range for this position is $55.00 (minimum), $62.50 (midpoint), and $70.00 (maximum). *
Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.
Qualifications- Hold a valid, active license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
- Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited college or university that includes coursework in nursing or education, administration, OB, Pediatrics or Psychiatry.
- At least four years’ experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- A year of clinical experience within the last five years (clinical teaching applies toward direct patient care). Clinically competent as defined in CCR Section 1420(c).
- Expertise in one of the following areas of nursing – Psychiatric, Geriatrics, Med/Surg, Pediatrics or OB‑Gyn.
