Kern Community College District accepts applications for part‑time, hourly faculty pools on a continuous basis. Applications remain active up to two years. The district is soliciting applications for part‑time, hourly adjunct instructors. Starting salary range is $66.00/hour; hourly rate may vary based on assignment and the Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) formula. For more information, refer to the CCA collective bargaining agreement or your college HR office.

• Master’s in nursing
• Bachelor’s in nursing AND Master’s in health education or health science
• Or the minimum qualifications as set by the Board of Registered Nursing, whichever is higher
• The equivalent. Certain combinations of education, experience, and accomplishments may be judged as equal to the stated minimum qualifications. Candidates must submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCY form with supporting documents.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
• Degrees and credits from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Overseas degrees must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service.
• Screening by a committee; meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.

• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in a diverse environment.
• Ability to work effectively with students of varied skills, motivations, academic, and vocational goals.
• Ability to develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities.
• Ability to participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges, and universities.

• Demonstrated ability to maintain subject‑matter currency.
• Ability to assess student learning outcomes.
• Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies that would benefit the program.

Salary Range: $66.00 hourly
