QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires the skill to understand and follow both oral and written instructions in an independent manner, read and write at a sufficient level for successful performance of required duties. Maintain routine records and prepare reports. Plan and organize required activities according to stated policies and objectives. Persuade and motivate individuals and groups. Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties.

Work effectively with students and families of diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. Models personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, personal and collective accountability. Knowledge of local community and the various services available to families.

Serve as a liaison between the district, school sites, and families, ensuring accurate and timely communication with all appropriate parties. Promote and support family engagement in schools and in their children's education. Collect and analyze data on family needs to identify and connect them with appropriate services available at the school. Collaborate with school site administrators to plan, organize, and deliver services--such as workshops, trainings, meetings, and college trips-for all families and guardians, including underrepresented groups ( e.g., migrant, McKinney-Vento, and families of students with disabilities).Develop

and conduct trainings for families and staff to increase and improve family engagement in areas such as district categorical programs, family-engagement technology, and committee advisory responsibilities. Provide knowledge/access to a variety of school and community services/resources available to families/guardians to assist them with being part of their child's education. Provide meaningful information and resources to help families/guardians support their child's educational progress.

Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating family engagement programs. Coordinate needed services with families to ensure that services and support are having the intended impact. Communicate with District-level personnel, school staff, families, students, and public agencies regarding the family engagement programs, services and related issues. Assist in the preparation and planning of school site events and assist with district advisory meetings/activities related to family involvement/engagement.

Develop and implement strategies to increase family participation in school and district events and outreach activities and create opportunities for all families and guardians-including underrepresented groups (e.g., migrant, McKinney-Vento, and families of students with disabilities) --to provide input and feedback. Attend professional development sessions on outreach, family engagement strategies, family leadership, and effective family education. Organize and facilitate scheduled family meetings and family education nights to promote and assist family engagement and provide active participation in the education of their student(s).

Support engaging structures for families to understand their students' goals and performance, as well as tools and activities to support these goals, and foster an environment to share strategies and insights with the school. Visits families'/guardians' homes to disseminate and/or collect necessary information, invite families/guardians to school activities, or provide knowledge/access to various school services/resources available, etc. Contact and collaborate with other schools and district personnel.

Participates in District family engagement activities. Establishes and maintains records of activities, workshops, training, meetings, college trips, etc.; prepares necessary reports. Assist school personnel in communicating with parents/guardians and families. Participate in District Family Center Specialists' meetings. Perform related duties as required.
