Job Summary

Title: History Instructor – Part‑time Adjunct Pool

Location: Bakersfield College – Panorama Campus, CA.

Job Type: Temporary – Adjuncts.

Salary: $67.00 hourly ($66.00/hour starting range; may vary per assignment).

Job Number: FY.

Responsibilities
  • Staff part‑time adjunct positions in the History department as needed, providing instruction and course support.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in History.
  • Or Bachelor's degree in History and a Master's degree in Political Science, Humanities, Geography, Area Studies, Women’s Studies, Social Science, or Ethnic Studies.
  • Or equivalent education, experience, and accomplishments.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds.
  • Both degrees must be from accredited institutions; foreign degrees require evaluation.
Knowledge & Abilities
  • Work effectively with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, and service to a diverse student population.
  • Engage students with a wide range of skills and goals.
  • Develop and deliver curriculum, including various modalities.
  • Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools and universities.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Maintain subject‑area currency.
  • Assess student learning outcomes.
  • Know computers and be willing to explore new technologies.
  • Commit to the California community college mission.
