Agriculture Business Faculty Position
Bakersfield College is seeking a faculty member for Agriculture Business. The Agriculture Department at Bakersfield College is deeply rooted in the Central Valley and reflects the region's vital role in California's agricultural economy. The department offers a broad range of instructional programs that combine foundational theory with hands-on, applied learning across agriculture business, animal science, mechanized agriculture, crop and plant sciences, and emerging agricultural technologies.
Faculty in the department work closely with industry partners, community organizations, and regional employers to ensure curriculum remains current, relevant, and aligned with workforce needs. Instruction emphasizes sustainability, innovation, economic viability, and responsible land stewardship, preparing students for transfer, careers, and leadership roles in a rapidly evolving agricultural sector.
With instructional sites across multiple campuses and strong connections to local industry, the Agriculture Department supports a diverse student population and plays a central role in workforce development, regional partnerships, and applied learning opportunities.
Bachelor's degree(s) or higher and two years of professional experience, and/or other specifications as noted, or specifically named associate degree(s) and six years of professional experience. (The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment. Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree).
OR – The equivalent. Certain combinations of education, experience, and other accomplishments in the field may be judged as equal to the stated minimum qualifications for these positions. Candidates who feel they possess such equivalent qualifications must request and submit an APPLICATION FOR EQUIVALENCE form. Supporting documents must be included with the completed form.
Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administration in California Community Colleges AND A demonstrated sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities

Degrees and credits must be from accredited institutions (Title V Section 53406). Any degree from a country other than the United States, including Canada and Great Britain, must be evaluated by an evaluation service.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate that they are broadly prepared and have a depth of knowledge in the discipline. In addition, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following knowledge and abilities:
- Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues in an environment that promotes innovation, teaching, learning and service to diverse student population;
