We offer Associate and Baccalaureate degrees and certificates, workplace skills, and preparation for transfer. Our rigorous and supportive learning environment promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion and fosters students' abilities to think critically, communicate effectively, and demonstrate competencies and skills to become productive members of our community and world.

The Woodworking and Cabinetmaking program provides hands-on, skills-based instruction for students pursuing both entry-level employment and personal enrichment. Faculty teach courses ranging from short-term job skills certificates focused on foundational hand and power tools, shop safety, and basic woodworking techniques, to advanced coursework in materials selection, design principles, fabrication methods, joinery, assembly, and finishing processes.

Instruction includes both classroom and shop-based learning, requiring faculty to demonstrate techniques, supervise students using modern woodworking machinery and equipment, and reinforce safe shop practices. Students work on progressively complex projects that reflect industry standards used in furniture making, cabinet shops, and wood product manufacturing environments.

The program prepares graduates for employment in furniture and cabinet shops and related manufacturing settings. Instructors are expected to guide skill development, evaluate student work, maintain a safe and organized shop environment, and align instruction with workforce expectations.
