Substitute Teacher
Kern High School District is hiring substitutes on an as needed basis. Applications will be accepted periodically for the following substitute classifications. The following are required and must be submitted:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Certification of District Proficiency in areas of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics by passing the District Proficiency Exam. One of the following may be submitted in place of the District Proficiency Certificate:
- Proof of passing Proficiency Exam from any district
- AA Degree or higher
- At least 48 college units
- Passing CBEST (California Basic Education Skills Test)
You will need to meet the following clearances:
- Fingerprint clearance (FBI and DOJ background check)
- *** Some classifications do require passing a pre-employment physical (provided by KHSD) in addition to special training
- Verification of Freedom from Tuberculosis (TB) which is valid for 4 years
