Position: Teacher, Dual Language Immersion Science (2026-2027 School Year)

Teacher, Dual Language Immersion Science/ELD  School Year) Qualifications

  • Valid California teaching credential authorizing service in the area of assignment
  • Bilingual Authorization in Spanish (BILA)
  • Evidence of success working with students, parents, colleagues, and other adults
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in target language
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and expectations
  • Well‑versed in current technology and research‑based practices
Job Goal

To meet Dual Immersion Program goals established by the District in relation to the specific needs of students designated to this program.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Establish positive and respectful relationships with students and families to create supportive and inclusive classroom environments.
  • Design and deliver lesson plans that align with grade‑level state standards, rigor, and meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Administer summative and formative student assessments, analyze results, and use them to develop lessons that advance learning goals.
  • Differentiates instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Language Learners, target language learners, students with disabilities, and students with different learning styles.
  • Provide in‑school intervention and enrichment opportunities to meet students' specific linguistic and academic needs.
  • Develop students' critical thinking, problem‑solving, creative, collaborative, and communication skills at high levels.
  • Communicate regularly with students and families about progress.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to support student learning and build strong professional learning communities.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, staff meetings, and other required meetings to improve teaching skills and stay current with best practices.
  • Establish and manage positive classroom behavior systems that ensure safe, inclusive, and productive learning environments.
  • Develop reasonable and specific rules/expectations of classroom behavior and procedures that are implemented consistently and are conducive to high levels of learning.
  • Guide the learning process in collaboration with parents toward achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear performance goals for all lessons, units, and projects.
  • Serve as child’s advocate, including making referrals to school‑wide social and academic services.
  • Maintain and communicate accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, District policy, and administrative regulations.
  • Uphold and enforce school expectations, administrative regulations, and Board policy.
  • Supervise students outside the classroom, including yard duty, assemblies, athletic events, extracurricular activities, and all emergency drills.
  • Model personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, personal and collective accountability.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Salary

$61,232 – $124,012 annually (182 days; maximum salary includes education and bilingual stipends).

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the District's "Improvement of Professional Services" handbook, Board policies and procedures, and collective bargaining agreements when applicable.

  • Bilingual authorization in Spanish
Conditions of Employment
  • Proof of privately owned automobile insurance and a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator’s license
  • Fingerprint clearance by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice
  • Verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training (or obtain verification within six weeks of hire and annually thereafter)
