Qualifications:
1. Valid California teaching credential, authorizing service in the area of assignment
2. Completion of bachelor's or higher degree including all courses needed to meet credential requirements
3. Evidence showing potential for success working with children, parents, colleagues, and other adults
4. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
5. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
6. Well organized, punctual, creative and innovative
7. Ability to adapt to changing environments and expectations
8. Well versed in current technology and educational research-based practices

Job Goal:
To meet the academic and social-emotional needs in relationship to specific needs of all students under their direction
Performance Responsibilities:
Establishes positive and respectful relationships with students and their families to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning for all studentsDesigns and delivers lesson plans that align with grade level state standards, rigor, and meet the needs of diverse learners, demonstrating teacher clarity and a clear measurement of student learningAdministers summative and formative student assessments, analyzes, and uses the results to develop lessons that progress students towards meeting learning goalsDifferentiates instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English Language Learners, students with disabilities, and students with different learning styles in the classroomProvides in-school intervention and enrichment opportunities to meet students' specific linguistic and academic needsCommunicates regularly with students and their families to keep them informed about child's progress and engages them in the learning processCollaborates with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to support student learning and builds a strong professional learning communityParticipates in ongoing professional development, staff meetings and other required meetings to improve teaching skills and stay current with best practices in educationEstablishes and manages a positive classroom behavior system that ensures a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment that is also clean and free of clutterDevelops reasonable and specific rules/expectations of classroom behavior and procedures which are implemented consistently and conducive to high levels of learningGuides the learning process in collaboration with parents toward achievement of curriculum goals and establishes clear performance goals for all lessons, units, projects that are communicated to studentsServes as the child's advocate, to include making referrals to school wide social and academic provided servicesMaintains and communicates accurate, complete and correct records as required by law, District policy and administrative regulations, including cumulative record folders, 504's, IEPs, attendance reports, and any other reports to parentsUpholds and enforces school expectations, Administrative Regulations, and Board policyCarries out assigned student supervision outside the classroom such as yard duty, assemblies, athletic events and extracurricular activities and all emergency drills to ensure student safetyModels personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, personal and collective accountabilityPerforms other related duties as assignedSalary:
Salary and work year to be according to current schedule; teacher annual basic salary schedule, 182 days
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the District's "Improvement of Professional Services" handbook, Board Policies and Procedures and consistent with collective bargaining agreements when applicable
