- $19.38/hour – $29.55/hour
Under supervision, to perform a variety of instructional activities; to assist in the conduct of intensified learning experiences; to perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel; and to do other related work as required.

Education (ESSA compliant):
- Proof of High School Diploma (or GED) AND
- Rigorous standard of quality on formal state assessment or local assessment OR
- Two years of college credit OR
- Associate’s of Arts Degree
- Basic concepts of child growth and development, and developmental behavior characteristics;
- Student behavior management strategies and techniques;
- Appropriate English usage, punctuation, spelling, and grammar;
- Basic arithmetic concepts;
- Routine record management, storage, and retrieval systems and procedures.
- Demonstrate an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups;
- Communicate effectively in oral and written form in English and a second language, as required by the assignment;
- Perform routine clerical tasks and operate a variety of education and office related machines and equipment;
- Learn to utilize a variety of appropriate instructional materials and procedures in the enhancement of a positive educational environment;
- Understand and carry out oral and written directions;
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and adults.

- Pass required test.
- One year of paid or voluntary experience working with multi‑age groups of children or the equivalent.
- Possess or secure within six (6) months of employment a certificate for first aid and CPR issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent.
- Assist instructional personnel with presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises;
- Tutor individual students and small groups of students to reinforce and follow up learning activities;
- Monitor and assist students in drill, practice, and study activities as a follow‑up to the presentation of instructional concepts by instructional personnel;
- Direct students into safe learning and play activities and functions, and assist in the shaping of appropriate social behaviors;
- May be required to assist bus drivers in the loading and unloading of special education students as well as riding along on the bus to supervise special education students;
- Attend to any special needs that may occur on the vehicle including behavior;
- Work with parents, teachers, and drivers to meet the needs of the students and their IEPs;
- Administer first aid if needed;
- Assist in management of student behavior through use of positive reinforcement strategies and techniques;
- May prepare and assist in the preparation of a variety of instructional materials and learning aids for use with individual or small groups of students;
- Maintain a variety of records and files, including confidential student records and information;
- Operate and assist students in the operation of a variety of instructional media machines and equipment;
- Assist students with activities to develop small muscle and eye‑hand coordination;
- May assist students with toileting and personal hygiene;
- May assist children with feeding activities including preparing students and the delivery of meal trays;
- Administer routine first aid and request assistance for non‑routine injury or illness;
- Maintain or assist in maintaining an orderly, attractive and positive learning environment;
- Participate in parent conferences, as requested;
