Qualifications:
Valid California administrative services credentialMaster’s Degree preferredSuccessful teaching or related experience with at‑risk students, including English Learners and gifted studentsAbility to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with staff and the publicReports To: Administrator as assigned
Supervises: Staff as assigned
Job Goal: To support the principal in establishing a collaborative and equitable school culture by fostering trust, building strong relationships with educational partners, and modeling integrity and accountability. Provide instructional leadership through data‑driven strategies, professional development, and curriculum alignment to meet diverse student needs and improve outcomes. Promote student success by implementing MTSS, improving attendance, and ensuring equitable discipline while enhancing college and career readiness opportunities.
Manage resources effectively, maintain campus safety, and strengthen family and community engagement to support holistic student development.
Performance Responsibilities:
Acts as temporary head of school in absence of principalFosters a culture of trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement among staff and studentsBuilds positive relationships with families, community groups, and organizations to support student successProvides instructional leadership through data‑driven decision‑making, classroom observations, and actionable feedbackOversees implementation of Tier 1 instructional programs to meet diverse student needsLeads staff professional learning and development to improve instructional practices and student outcomesGuides curriculum and assessment alignment with standards and district expectationsMonitors student performance and uses accountability systems to improve teaching and learningLeads initiatives to improve attendance and reduce chronic absenteeism through data analysis and targeted strategiesPromotes student agency and voice by supporting leadership opportunities, such as student council and ASB activitiesCollaborates with staff to implement Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to address academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional needsEnsures equitable discipline practices, promoting fairness and restorative practicesAssists in evaluation of certificated and classified staffAssists in managing scheduling, budgeting, and allocation of resources to support instructional and operational goalsEnsures proper allocation of instructional materials and resources to meet diverse student needsAssists in building meaningful relationships with families, especially underrepresented communities, to support student successAssists in organizing family engagement activities, including Parent Cafes, home visits, and other school eventsAssists in establishing and leveraging community partnerships to meet student needs and enhance college and career readinessLeads professional development aligned with school and district goals, including training on curriculum, assessment, and instructional strategiesParticipates in district‑sponsored professional learning opportunities to enhance leadership skillsSupports teacher collaboration and growth through coaching and mentorshipOversees campus safety protocols, including emergency preparedness, supervision, and school security as outlined in the school safety planCollaborates with safety teams to address issues related to student behavior, bullying, and crisis responseMaintains a safe, supportive school environment that fosters student well‑beingImplements programs and events, such as college and career weeks, to prepare students for postsecondary successModels personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, personal and collective accountabilityPerforms other related duties as assignedSalary: $130,437 - $159,039 annually (199 days) (Max. salary includes longevity & educational stipends)
