Summary: The instructor position plays a critical role in teaching and learning, ensuring that students achieve mastery of course, program, and institutional learning outcomes. The instructor prepares and delivers high-quality instruction, engages in program improvement, and participates in various institutional and student affairs initiatives. This role requires a proactive and dedicated approach to student success, fostering a positive learning environment, utilizing diverse teaching methodologies, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure ongoing program and student development.
Compensation: The starting pay range for this position is $90,000-$96,000 annually.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Instruction and Curriculum Delivery:
- Prepares lessons and course materials in accordance with the college's curriculum, using appropriate teaching methods and resources.
- Adheres to course syllabi, ensuring alignment with program goals and accreditation requirements.
- Delivers instruction through dynamic and varied techniques to support different learning styles.
- Maintains a positive, inclusive, and professional classroom environment that fosters student engagement and success.
- Student Support and Success:
- Maintains regular and open communication with students regarding progress, attendance, and performance, responding promptly to inquiries.
- Provides proactive academic advising, tutoring, and office hours to assist with course material, assignments, and career development.
- Participates in student affairs activities such as orientation, clubs, and career services events to support engagement and success.
- Assessment and Program Improvement:
- Regularly assesses student learning outcomes and implements strategies to enhance performance and course effectiveness.
- Uses student achievement data to contribute to program improvement processes, including reviews, assessment, and evaluation.
- Stays current with industry trends and academic best practices.
- Collaboration and Faculty Development:
- Participates in departmental meetings, industry advisory boards, and faculty development activities to advance program growth.
- Collaborates with colleagues across departments to support student success, retention, and outcome achievement.
- Mentors and supports new faculty members for successful integration into the institution.
- Compliance and Accreditation:
- Adheres to institutional, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
- Documents grades, attendance, and advising using designated software systems.
- Participates in assessments to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and continuous quality improvement.
- Other Duties:
- Ensures instructional materials are relevant and improvements are implemented as needed.
- Maintains classroom and lab equipment in good working condition and arranges for repairs.
- Fulfills additional responsibilities assigned by the Program Director, Academic Dean, or Campus Director.
