Lecturer Pool for the Kinesiology Department – Temporary, Part‑time, Academic Year 2026/2027, Available Fall 2026/Spring 2027.

Position DescriptionThe Department of Kinesiology has a pool of part‑time lecturers. The applicant pool is used to fill short‑term temporary lecturer positions across the campus on an ongoing basis. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. The pool is closed for the current academic year effective May 31. Applicants must submit a new application each year. The pool will be reopened by June 15 for the next academic year.
Minimum Qualifications- Physical activity class lecturers:
Certification in a specialty such as personal training, fitness instruction, skilled activity instruction (e.g., swimming, yoga), strength and conditioning, or exercise specialist. - Kinesiology undergraduate and laboratory lecturers:
Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field. - Athletic Training lecturers:
Current NATA certification. - Demonstrated ability or potential to provide high‑quality education to a diverse student population, including first‑generation and under‑represented college students.
- Kinesiology master’s degree courses:
Doctoral or master’s degree with substantial teaching experience, scholarship experience, or professional certification.
- Physical activity class lecturers:
Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field. - Kinesiology undergraduate, general education, and laboratory lecturers:
Master’s degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Physical Education, Sport Psychology, or a closely related discipline. - PE teaching preparation lecturers: K‑through‑12 PE teaching experience.
- Demonstrated excellence in college teaching and/or relevant industry experience with appropriate certification.
Lecturer salary depends on educational preparation and experience. Salary schedules for the Lecturer Academic Year Classification are:
- Range 2: $5,507 – $6,677
- Range 3: $6,221 – $13,224
- Range 4: $6,825 – $14,523
- Range 5: $8,593 – $15,211
Salary will be prorated for part‑time assignments.
