Must possess the ability to assist teachers and/or administrators in developing and implementing curriculum for a specialized area of instruction such as vocational education, computerized labs, remedial lessons etc.; supervise students to maintain effective learning environment; disciplining when necessary under the direction of a certificated staff member; assists in preparing and maintaining required paper work, records, and reports for assigned program area as necessary;
perform related duties as required. One year of typing and general clerical experience is required, preferably including experience in retail sales, or any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and skill; work history involving the supervision of adult students in a vocational setting is desirable. Completion of the twelfth grade is required, preferably supplemented by college level courses.
Upon placement in the position, the employee will obtain, if not already in possession of, a food safety certificate. A recent five-minute typing certificate must accompany the application in order to be considered. Certification of district proficiency in the areas of basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills must be submitted with application in order to be considered. One of the following may be submitted in place of the district proficiency certificate: diploma from a regionally accredited california high school after january 1, 1981.

Under supervision, operates an on-campus student store and maintains an adequate stock and inventory.
Employees in this class direct and supervise student assistants. This job class performs a variety of routine but responsible tasks in the effective implementation of store/concession operations; performs journey level clerical duties and requires knowledge of specialized procedures and precedents and requires communication and organizational skills; specialized support service within the district's educational process and/or functions at a level of independence that requires creativeness, initiative, and demonstrable proven abilities and methods utilized in the stocking/retailing activities.
Performs a wide variety of responsible and/or specialized clerical/technical support services to staff members; assist certificated teachers, school administrator, or program supervisor in the development and implementation of instructional programs for the specific needs of an assigned area. On occasions, employees in this classification receive general to limited supervision from certificated teachers and/or school or program administrator within a broad framework of policies and procedures.
Must be able to choose among a limited number of alternatives in solving routine problems. Will have various responsibilities in several areas.
