Department InformationThe Department of Physics & Engineering currently offers a BS in Physics, a BS in Engineering (with optional concentrations in Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering, Engineering Management, Petroleum Engineering, and Energy and Power).
Position DescriptionThe Department of Physics and Engineering at California State University Bakersfield accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part-time lecturers.
Applicant Pool DetailsApplicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool will only be good for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31st.
If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15th.
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any engineering field with sufficient professional experience,
OR a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in any engineering field with appropriate academic credentials. - Applicants must demonstrate a proven ability to teach both lecture courses and laboratory sessions effectively.
- Applicants hold a Ph.D. degree in some specific engineering fields (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering) with appropriate academic credentials.
Lecturer and salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience. Position’s appointment is subject to budgetary authorization.
