The Department of Public Policy and Administration (PPA) at CSU Bakersfield offers three degree programs:
Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration (BAPA), NASPAA accredited Master of Public Administration (MPA), and Master of Science in Heath Care Administration (MS-HCA). Description:
The Department of Public Policy and Administration at California State University Bakersfield accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part-time lecturers.
Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool ad will only be good for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31, 2026.
If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15, 2027.
Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned master's degree in public administration, public policy, health care administration, or a closely related field.
- Extensive leadership experience in government, nonprofit, or health care sectors.
- Academic and/or professional qualifications must be maintained for instructors in the MPA program to satisfy requirements of NASPAA accreditation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An earned Ph.D. or Doctorate in public administration, public affairs, or a closely related field.
- Prior collegiate teaching experience.
