The Department of Ethnic Studies, founded in January 2022, offers an undergraduate degree leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ethnic Studies, as well as several Ethnic Studies minors. The Department currently has five full-time and part-time faculty with expertise in Asian American Studies, Black Studies, Chicana/o/x & Latina/o/x Studies, Critical Pacific Islands & Oceania Studies, Ethnic Studies, and Native American & Indigenous Studies.
Our faculty are committed to creating systems of liberation for ourselves and our communities through developing meaningful scholarship, participating in community-centered advocacy, nurturing critical & compassionate students, and preparing students not only for academic success, but also for meaningful participation in their communities as we work together to eliminate racism and all forms of oppression in the US and beyond.

Description:
The Department of Ethnic Studies at California State University Bakersfield accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part-time lecturers.
Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus
with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester.
This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.
Applications in this pool will only be good for the current academic year.This pool will be closed effective May 31, 2027. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15, 2027.
