Department Information

The Department of Psychology at California State University, Bakersfield offers undergraduate and graduate education that prepares students for careers and advanced study in psychology and behavioral health. The M.S. in Counseling Psychology is a three-year professional training program designed to prepare students for licensure as Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCCs). A distinguishing feature of the program is the University Counselor Training Clinic (UCTC), which provides high-quality counseling services to the community while serving as an integrated clinical training environment for graduate students.
