The Department of Psychology is one of ten departments in the SSE. Serving over 1,000 majors, the department is the largest in the College. The department offers both a Bachelor’s and Master’s program. The department provides students a broad range of perspectives, methodologies, and bodies of knowledge from contemporary psychology facilitating the development of skills, and knowledge necessary for success beyond graduation.
Beyond academics, the faculty work collaboratively to provide a welcoming and student-centered atmosphere in and outside of the classroom. As a Hispanic Serving Institution, our department values cultural sensitivity and community connection.
Position
Description:
The Department of Psychology at California State University Bakersfield accepts applications on an ongoing basis for our pool of part-time lecturers.
Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across our campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year.
Applications in this pool will only be good for the current academic year. This pool will be closed effective May 31st. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, you will need to apply to the new pool as it becomes available by June 15 th .

- Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate students from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds, including first-generation students.
