Your Impact

The Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) in the PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division performs tasks involving physical labor at solar energy sites near Bakersfield, California. The Solar Field Service Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar power plants in accordance with established preventative and corrective maintenance standards while always maintaining safety and professionalism.

Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Bakersfield, California.

Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of Solar Utility and Sub-Station equipment.
  • Responsible for documentation including work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency information schedules.
  • Provide knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components using digital multimeters, megger, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
  • Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to ensure proper working order.
  • Maintain a strong safety background with experience in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Work solo as well as in a group environment.
  • Operate and safely maintain a motor vehicle in accordance with the PEARCE Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.
Core Experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in Commercial/Industrial operations and maintenance (O&M) on solar power plants is preferred.
  • Preferable experience with preventative maintenance on Solar Utility equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical experience with troubleshooting and installation skills.
  • Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub-station equipment (TMEIC/SMA/Sungrow/Nextracker/ATI, etc.) is preferred.
  • Takes initiative to elevate issues at site.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop laborers into apprentices.
  • High aptitude and a strong work ethic are a must.
Physical/Work Environment
  • Must live within approximately 50 miles of the Bakersfield, California area.
  • Be exposed to ambient Outdoor temperatures while working outdoors.
  • Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).
  • Employment may require working on weekends and holidays, including on call service availability via telephone/text message.
  • Travel requirements up to 25% depending on company support.
Compensation

Hourly pay range: $30.00-$42.00 (DOE). In addition to wages, employees may be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, a company vehicle, per diem or other applicable compensation.
