Full Time Temporary - Pay Range: $37‑41/hour
The Associate Engineer manages engineering projects and implements technological innovations to enhance productivity and operational efficiency at the Bakersfield facility.
Responsibilities- Evaluate engineering technologies and process changes to identify operations enhancements.
- Integrate engineering principles with manufacturing technologies to resolve technical challenges.
- Conduct risk and benefit analyses of existing methods to recommend improvements.
- Lead small- to medium‑sized capital projects, ensuring design, construction, and commissioning are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide plant support by monitoring equipment, troubleshooting issues, and developing solutions to maintain production efficiency.
- Oversee utility and energy systems, ensuring efficiency and optimal resource utilization.
- Gather, interpret, and analyze data to identify patterns that improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations to upgrade preventive‑maintenance processes, incorporating new insights.
- Lead root‑cause analyses to identify reliability issues and develop corrective actions.
- Build strong relationships across teams, mentoring and providing technical leadership to enhance troubleshooting skills using Six Sigma and similar methods.
- Leadership: ability to lead, coach, and mentor teams.
- Communication: excellent verbal and written skills.
- Technical expertise in engineering principles applicable to food manufacturing.
- Project management experience from start to finish.
- Commitment to continuous improvement principles.
- Proficiency in technical drawing (AutoCAD, Solid Works, or equivalent).
- Strong problem‑solving skills.
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
- 1+ year of experience in food manufacturing or consumer products.
- 1+ year of project management experience.
- 1+ year of supervising contractors directly.
- Certification in Six Sigma or similar quality improvement methodologies.
- Standard work hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flexibility for weekends during project launches.
- Up to 20% travel may be required.
