The CRC Asset Development team is seeking to fill a Senior Reservoir Engineer role. This position will report to our Bakersfield, CA office.

The base annual salary for this posted position is expected to range from $150K-$250K, with a target annual bonus of 20% of base salary and eligibility to participate in our long-term incentive program.

Role Overview

This Reservoir Engineering position works alongside Geologists, Wellwork Engineers, Analysts, Regulatory Staff, and Surveillance Technicians to manage an assigned reservoir area and maximize economic outcomes using tools and strategies such as drilling, wellwork, surveillance, and flood management. This position is located in Bakersfield, California, and is eligible for a 9/80 work schedule.

Responsibilities:

Reservoir Development

* Develops a detailed Life of Field plan for assigned assets which includes identification of development projects and concepts, and supporting facilities, disposal, and data requirements

* Completes technical evaluation and economics, prepares necessary documentation, makes necessary presentations and obtains approvals for development projects to implement plan of depletion.

* Support drilling and wellwork groups in operations and completion design including maintaining pertinent data in tracking toolset.

* Completes post job drilling and investment wellwork evaluations and reports on results at periodic post-audit reviews

* Prepares annual Reserves forecast including developed and undeveloped categories.

* Supports Regulatory team in requirements to maintain UIC projects and various other requirements such as BHP and SAPT data analysis.

* Evaluate idle wells to support annual ARO activities.

Surveillance

* Conduct multi-disciplined Pattern & Well Reviews to identify opportunities within assigned area.

* Evaluate economics and determine priority of downlist including routine maintenance, injector optimization and refer to engineering (RTE) projects.

* Maintain rigless wellwork program with identification of cleanout & coil candidates for producers and injectors.

* Work with the agencies to ensure Voidage Management requirements are met.

* Identify production and flood optimization opportunities, including setting injection rate targets, producer cycle candidates, and high WOR shut-offs.

Competencies

* Surveillance - Reservoirs, Water flood, Data Collection, QC, Assessment

* Reservoir Analysis - Rock and Fluid Properties, Fluid Flow, Material Balance, Pressure Transient Analysis

* Depletion Planning - Development, IOR / EOR Design, Horizontal and Multilateral wells

* Regulatory processes and requirements (Permitting, Idle Well, Abandonments, UIC)

* Operations - Drilling, Completion, Stimulation, Lift

Required Qualifications:

* BS Engineering degree, preferably in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical

* 10+ years' experience in Reservoir Engineering for an operating company

* Reserves estimation & production forecasting using decline curve analysis and analog type curves

* Proficiency in the following software applications:
Spotfire & Val Nav

* Proficiency in surveillance and tracking software such as XSPOC, Open Wells or industry equivalents

* Water flood/and or EOR grass roots development and injection survey interpretation

* Must have valid driver's license and a clean DMV record

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience and proficiency in primary and secondary recovery projects

* Masters in PE
