Job Summary

Seeking a Portfolio Manager II or Senior Portfolio Manager with experience in the Farmer Mac program, real estate lending, and sales/business development. The role requires periodic travel across the bank’s footprint to support customer relationships and portfolio management.

The hiring range is $84,000 to $152,375 annual salary plus incentive opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Growth and retention of assigned portfolio clients, collaborating with Relationship Managers to deepen and retain relationships.
  • Cross‑sell the bank’s products and services, developing robust relationship service plans.
  • Facilitate comprehensive analysis that evaluates credit facilities to generate income and maximize ROA.
  • Primary contact for assigned commercial or business relationships across the bank’s footprint.
  • Provide preliminary analysis for annual reviews, renewals, and new relationships; may provide underwriting.
  • Monitor and assist with profitability, retention, and growth, responding to portfolio balance changes, covenant management, and financial ticklers.
  • Maintain a loan portfolio, minimizing risk and maintaining delinquencies and weak loans per policy.
  • Recommend and model appropriate loan structures for expanding relationships.
  • Ensure all loan package documentation is acquired.
  • Coordinate with business partners, CLRM, or Regional Manager to identify expansion and retention opportunities.
  • Conduct quarterly, semi‑annual, or annual business reviews in partnership with business partners and Managers.
  • Perform research, preparation, and analysis of customer relationships and industry changes.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Strong business acumen and ability to fully analyze and underwrite all types of loans.
  • Superior understanding of financial statements, collateral, DSCR, and covenant compliance.
  • Experience reviewing credit risk rating and borrower/guarantor analysis.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations:
    Bank Secrecy Act, GLBA, OFAC, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (preferred).
  • 5–7 years of related experience within the financial industry.
  • Financial analysis experience and credit training.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and presentation skills to C‑Suite executives.
  • Team oriented with strong customer service skills.
