Up to $2,500 About the Opportunity

Legacy Staffing is proud to partner with a trusted medical provider serving Kern County for over 50 years. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Critical Care Transport Registered Nurse (CCT RN) to join their elite mobile intensive care unit team. This is a unique opportunity to deliver advanced patient care in a more autonomous, one-on-one setting while making a meaningful impact in emergency medical services.

Why

Join Our Client?
  • Relocation reimbursement up to $2,500
  • 1:1 patient ratio for focused, high‑acuity care
  • Autonomous work environment under established protocols
  • Opportunities to respond to 911 calls alongside Paramedics
  • Full‑time stability in a specialized Critical Care Transport (CCT) environment
  • Full paid benefits
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced nursing care during ground transport in mobile ICU units
  • Respond to medical emergencies and deliver ALS/BLS treatment
  • Conduct patient assessments and manage critical conditions during transit
  • Administer life‑saving interventions (airway management, cardiac monitoring, medications)
  • Operate and maintain advanced medical equipment (EKGs, defibrillators, suction devices)
  • Coordinate care with sending/receiving facilities, EMS teams, and first responders
  • Document patient care accurately and ensure compliance with reporting standards
  • Provide compassionate support to patients and families during transport
  • Mentor and guide EMTs and Paramedics in proper EMS techniques
  • Ensure vehicle and equipment readiness and compliance with safety standards
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of ER and/or ICU experience
  • Valid CPR certification
  • Class C California Driver License (issued by client)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in high‑stress, fast‑paced environments
  • Computer proficiency for documentation and reporting
Training & Certification Requirements
  • Within 2 months of hire: ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC (or equivalent) – internal training available
  • Within 2 years of hire:
Advanced Nursing Certification (CTRN, CEN, CCRN, or equivalent)
Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent physical activity: pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, climbing
  • Long periods of standing and walking
  • Fast‑paced emergency medical and transport environments
Schedule & Work Structure

This is a full-time, fixed‑schedule position due to the critical nature of transport operations.

  • 12‑hour shifts
  • Alternating schedule: 36 hours one week & 48 hours the following week
  • Onboarding and CCT training typically take 3–6 weeks, depending on experience
Compensation Structure (California Overtime Compliant)

This position follows California daily overtime requirements, which means compensation is structured differently than many hospital roles.

  • Each 12‑hour shift includes: 8 hours at a regular rate & 4 hours paid at overtime (1.5x)
  • Overtime is built into every shift, not only after 40 hours in a week
  • Because overtime is paid daily, the regular hourly rate may appear lower than some hospital base rates
  • When all scheduled shifts are worked over the year, total annual compensation aligns with a target of approximately $120,000+ for RNs with ICU or ER experience
Key takeaway

This is not a reduction in pay — it is a compliant pay structure that ensures consistent overtime earnings and predictable annual compensation.

  • Annual compensation range: $116,000–$135,000 DOE
  • Built‑in overtime paid every shift
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Relocation assistance up to $2,500
  • Opportunities for advancement and professional development

If you're ready to elevate your nursing career in a dynamic and impactful role, we encourage you to apply.
Legacy Staffing is proud to connect healthcare professionals with meaningful opportunities in the community.
