As a Procurement Transplant Coordinator, you will provide primary medical care to authorized organ donors in hospital Intensive Care Units and One Legacy recovery facilities. The care consists of managing hemodynamics and pulmonary function to secure perfusion and oxygenation to the lifesaving organs for transplant.

Summary of Functions:
The Procurement Transplant Coordinator I (PTC-I) is the clinical professional responsible for all aspects of the organ procurement process at a hospital within One Legacy’s DSA and at a One Legacy Recovery Center. The PTC-I’s responsibility begins with assisting hospitals to identify and report potential donor referrals and proceeds through the organ recovery procedure. The PTC-I is responsible for reinforcing and supporting all processes of donation as outlined in the UAGA (Uniform Anatomical Gift Act).
The clinical element requires direct medical donor care, with an emphasis on assessment, resuscitation, physiologic management, organ allocation, documentation, packaging and labeling of organs for transplant or research at the time of recovery. The PTC-I directs the medical treatment regimen to meet the assessed needs of the donor in accordance with established medical practices, the donor requirements, policies & procedures, and the practices and goals of One Legacy.
The PTC-I will identify and support the psychosocial needs of donor families and loved ones with direct aid from One Legacy family support teams. Administrative, training, and regulatory responsibilities are included within this vital role PTC-I will support hospital development in his/her assigned hospitals and conduct professional and public education presentations about organ, eye and tissue donation. The PTC-I is delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out assigned duties.
